Here are the top stories today in Buffalo: The owners of a historic grain elevator have cleared the first hurdle in their attempt to demolish the structure in light brick damage sustained in last Saturday's wind storm. The City of Buffalo Department of Permit and Inspections has granted an emergency demolition order to ADM Milling to demolish the Great Northern Elevator at 250 Ganson St. in Buffalo's First Ward, mayor Byron Brown announced Friday. (WETM - MyTwinTiers.com) Franklin Andrews, 23, of Buffalo pleaded guilty to manslaughter and criminal possession of a firearm this morning before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan. According to the District Attorney's office, on Friday, June 18 around 11:15 a.m., Andrews shot Tyler Wasinger, 22, in the chest with an illegal pistol inside the defendant's department, where the victim died. He has pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter in the second degree, a Class C felony, and one count of criminal possession of a firearm, a Class E felony. (WIVB.com - News 4) A judge set bail Friday morning for the Buffalo teen charged with bringing a gun to the Bennett Community School Campus on Thursday. Erie County Family Court Judge Kelly Brinkworth set bail for the 15-year-old at $25,000 cash or bond. The teen, whose name has not been released by authorities and which was not spoken aloud during Friday morning's formal arraignment, was escorted into the courtroom by two Erie County sheriff's deputies with shackles on his wrists and ankles.
