NAUGATUCK, CT — A 13-year-old student at City Hill Middle School was arrested Thursday in connection with a threat made against the Naugatuck school, according to Naugatuck police.
The boy's identity was not released due to his age, but police said he shared on social media that fellow students should not attend school on Friday "because of what he might do."
Naugatuck police, who have stepped up enforcement at local schools due to possible threats, learned that the 13-year-old's alleged threats were circulating on social media, and the department was able to quickly identify the suspect.
"In response to these posts additional Naugatuck Police Officers have been posted at Borough schools in an abundance of caution," police said.
The boy was charged with breach of peace and is scheduled to appear at Waterbury Juvenile Court on Friday.
