HOWARD COUNTY, MD — This Saturday, hundreds of families will be showered with gifts and blanketed in holiday festivities as they attend the 6th annual Toys for Tots Giveaway to be held at the county recreation and parks headquarters in Columbia. This year, more than 1,200 families registered to receive gifts for their children. An estimated 10,000 toys will be distributed to more than 3,000 children. "For six years, Toys for Tots has provided free toys to thousands of children in Howard County. We are grateful for our Marines who started this important initiative to help every child feel special this holiday season," Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said. "Especially as we've faced this pandemic, I'm thankful for everyone who contributed, donated and volunteered this year - a testament that Howard County believes in fostering a better community for all and that together we can create a merrier holiday for our neighbors in need.
