ORLAND PARK, IL — The Orland Park annual showing of A Christmas Carol has been cancelled this year due to "multiple illnesses" among performers, the recreation league said in a social media post.
The event was originally planned to take place on Dec. 17 - 19 at the Orland Park Cultural Center. Prior to its cancellation, all three shows were sold out.
"Due to multiple illnesses among cast members, we are forced to make the difficult decision to cancel the production of A Christmas Carol," Orland Park recreation officials said in a statement.
The cancellation comes as COVID-19 cases are spiking throughout Cook County, according to public health officials.
All those who bought tickets will be refunded. As of now, officials said they are planning on rescheduling the show but have not decided on new dates.
