Press release from the City of Albany: 12/16/2021 8:55 PM Situational Awareness Notice - Threats Circulating Via Social Media The Albany Police Department wants to make the public aware of a social media posting that school districts across the Nation have received claiming a school violence event will take place on Friday December 17th, 2021. The social media threat does not specifically list any state or school district, and there is no information at this time to indicate the threat is credible or related to any schools in Northern California.  The Albany School District did not receive this threatening post, but we have been in touch with school officials regarding this matter and will continue to communicate with them should more relevant information be learned.   Albany Police officers patrol all Albany schools daily and will continue to do so.
