Handyman / Superintendent

Looking for a full-time handyman/building superintendent for a few apartment buildings immediately. Responsibilities: -Perform basic tasks including painting and filling crevices, clean facilities, and managing maintenance repairs. -Perform basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, heating and air conditioning work as needed. -Respond to clients’ maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner AND keeps a journal of completed work. -Perform repairs on equipment or appliances when needed -Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs. -Inspects vacant units and prepares them for rental. -Regularly check community spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure, or breakdowns and maintains safety and cleanliness. -Repair plumbing, electrical, and safety systems. -Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks. -Ensure that garbage and recycled items are placed for pick up at the appropriate times and in the proper manner. -Conduct performance assessments of residential appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, and stoves. -Provide clients with support and guidance on maintaining their equipment. -Wears the proper safety equipment in the appropriate situations including safety shoes, gloves, face mask, hard hats, eye and ear protection. -Keep entrances, walkways and stairways clear of debris, ice, and snow. Requirements: -A minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a similar role. -High school diploma or equivalent qualification required. -Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems. -Knowledge of working with hardware tools and power equipment. -Extremely organized with good listening, communication, and time management skills. -Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving and good scheduling skills -Must be proficient at safely using tools associated with the job. -Must be able to maneuver in small spaces and lift heavy items. -Must have his own tools.
