Description

Relive the hustle and bustle of rum running in Rivertown with this engaging presentation while dressed in period clothing! The Detroit River was a pretty busy place during Prohibition.  With tremendous amounts of illegal liquor entering the United States from Canada during the 1920’s and early 1930’s, stories abound.  Join some young “old timers” as we travel back to the era of blind pigs, rum-running and panther sweat.  Participants are urged to dress for the occasion in period-style clothing and tell a few stories of their own! Our friends from the Lake Erie Metropark Marshlands Museum are joining us to present this fascinating program. This event is open to those 21 and older and is sponsored by Friends of the OAC. Beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and light snacks will be provided. FEE: $18 per person. Pre-registration required. This program is subject to cancelation if minimum enrollment is not reached.
