MIAMI, FL — Apple has temporarily closed its retail store in Miami's Brickell City Centre after a COVID-19 outbreak among employees, Bloomberg reported.
The tech giant also closed two other stores — one in Annapolis, Maryland and another in downtown Ottawa in Canada — because of coronavirus outbreaks. All employees will take COVID-19 tests before the stores reopen.
Last week, Apple also closed a store in Southlake, Texas for five days after a number of employees tested positive for the virus, NBC News reported.
"We regularly monitor conditions, and we will adjust our health measures to support the well-being of customers and employees," Apple said in a statement. "We remain committed to a comprehensive approach for our teams that combines regular testing with daily health checks, employee and customer masking, deep cleaning and paid sick leave."
With the omicron variant driving up new COVID-19 cases across the country, Apple reinstated its face mask mandate for all customers and employees for U.S. stores Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported.
