‘Be Scared, but Be Prepared: Taking the Fear Out of Job Interviewing’ A Message from Kenny Anderson, Executive Director, Leadership Empowerment Enterprise Greetings! First Wednesday returns to -in person sessions beginning Wednesday, January 5 at Bryant Bank Building’s 4th floor conference room. Here is what you need to know, if you plan to attend. This monthly professional development seminar conducted under the banner of my non-profit, Leadership Empowerment Enterprise. Topic: ‘Be Scared, but be Prepared: Taking the Fear Out of Job Interviewing.’ When facing a job interview, the problem is not the fear; the problem is a lack of preparation. Capitalizing on over 15 years of interviewing experience as a search committee chair, Mr. Anderson will share essential tips that will guarantee success in the job interview process. Success is defined more by the level of preparation one has going into the process than the guarantee of a job offfer. Among the tools participants will learn about are: How to know what questions will be asked during the interview and how to best prepare to answer them; How to use relaxation techniques prior to and during the interview for maximum success through balance and control How to position yourself to become a finalist in the search and close the deal after the initial interview; and more! Tickets: Only 12 seats are reserved for this session. Venue: Monthly seminars are held at Bryant Bank located at 320 Pelham Avenue in the 4th floor Community Room. If you’re not familiar with it, the building faces Pelham Avenue (just west of Cajun Steamer, Another Broken Egg and Publix Super Market) and Lowery Boulevard (just east of the new AC Hotel and new Redstone Federal Credit Union building). Parking: The bank president has asked that we park in the rear of the building or on the street. We want to be good neighbors, so please keep this in mind. By entering the rear of the building, you’ll see the elevator that will take you to the fourth floor. Turn left off the elevator. A staircase is also in the same area for those who want to walk. If you enter through the bank, you’ll have to come through the double doors after entering the bank where you will find the elevator on your left. Please try to use the rear only to reduce the amount of non-bank related traffic. Registration: This is a free seminar so it won’t be necessary to bring your ticket. We’ll have a sign-in sheet that will have the names of those who have pre-registered on it. There will also be name tags, so don’t forget to pick one up. Cancellations: Once again, we have a full house, so if your plans have changed/or change, please provide a courtesy response that you will NOT be attending, so that someone else can have the spot, and I can plan appropriately. You can do this by simply deleting your reservation. someone else. Thank you. Monthly Seminars: Information about future seminars will be posted on Facebook, so please look out for the postings. Free registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and will typically be limited to 35 participants. The seminar will start at 11:30 pm, and end at 1:00 pm. I want to respect everyone’s time. COVID Protocols: Face masks are required to be worn by all attendees. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. You can reach me at either [email protected] or 256.679.4241.
