WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford Police are increasing their presence at school buildings after social media threats threatening violence on Dec. 17 at schools nationwide. Police say no direct threat was made to Wallingford Schools, and that no specific schools or locations were mentioned in the threat. According to police, the threats were made in numerous posts on social media, particularly on the app TikTok. Officers will be at school buildings Thursday and Friday, police said. Wallingford Public Schools sent an email to parents saying there is "no credible evidence of a specific threat" and assuring parents school staff will be on the lookout for anything suspicious or threatening. "Threats such as these serve as reminders that we all play a role in keeping our students safe," Superintendent Danielle Bellizzi said in an email. "All of us (students, families, and school personnel) need to immediately report any suspicious behavior, threats, or other concerns to school administration and/or law enforcement."
