Shelters have additional capacity during winter months to take in people overnight who are at risk of hypothermia. If you see someone at night or on a weekend who is unsheltered and you think could be at risk of hypothermia, call the police non-emergency line at 703-241-5053 (TTY 711). If you see someone during a weekday during the day, you can call Housing and Human Services at 703-248-5005 (TTY 711). If you see an individual in distress, please call 911.
