ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police announced that an Annapolis shooting hospitalized a Baltimore man on Wednesday. The ensuing crash also hurt the victim and hospitalized two drivers. Officers expect everybody to survive. Authorities heard shots fired in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive at 8:40 p.m. First responders said they could not find any victims, but they did spot six vehicles and two apartments damaged by gunfire. Police got a call at 8:44 p.m. for a two-vehicle collision on Aris T Allen Boulevard, also known as Maryland Route 665, near Godspeed Way. The passenger of one of the vehicles told officers that he was shot in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive. The 20-year-old had a gunshot wound to his leg, authorities said. The victim also hurt his arm in the wreck. Police said the other drivers injured in the accident were a 17-year-old male from Annapolis, who was transporting the shooting victim, and the unidentified operator of the other vehicle. The passenger in the second vehicle was not hurt. Both vehicles were damaged, officers said without speculating the cause of the crash. Route 665 was closed in both directions after the wreck, but it has since reopened. The Annapolis Police Department is still investigating. Detectives asked anybody with tips to call 410-260-3439. The Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland offered a cash reward of up to $2,000 for details that lead to an arrest or an indictment.
