The National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center indicates that over 36 million people are under High Wind Warnings stretching from the Oregon coast to the Great Lakes. Hazardous travel conditions and power outages are likely, especially in the Heartland.
To prepare:
Very strong winds with gusts up to 60-70 mph are expected after dark. Severe storms are possible after dark with wind gusts in excess of 80 mph and isolated tornadoes. High end impacts are possible, especially for east central Iowa.
