Long-term Memphis resident and Crossroads Hospice and Palliative care patient, Patricia Kirchner, has been living across from Kroger for over 30 years and used to visit it every day as her daily dose of socialization and exercise before her illness and the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to her favorite routine. The Kroger, according to Patricia, is “hers” and the employees have become her friends, and she deeply missed them over the past two years. When the opportunity came for Patricia to pick her perfect day, thanks to Crossroads’ “Gift of a Day” program, she only had one thing on her mind – a trip to Kroger! The Crossroads’ team made it happen, and the Kroger employees welcomed their “longest shopper” back with open arms.
