EVERGREEN PARK, IL — A 51-year-old Chicago woman was taken into police custody after being involved in several hit-and-run crashes that ended in Evergreen Park, police said. Annisha Gray is charged with DUI and fleeing the scene of an accident.
Around 6 p.m. Tuesday, an Evergreen Park police officer saw a Honda speeding on Central Park disregard the red light at 103rd Street, and crash into an SUV sitting in the intersection, according to the charges. Photos of the accident, taken by a passerby and shared with Patch, showed the SUV resting on its side.
The driver, later identified as Gray, had earlier been involved in an accident in Chicago, police said. While Chicago police were on the scene, Evergreen Park officers were advised of two hit-and-run crashes at 99th and Sawyer and 101st Street and Sawyer. After an investigation, police said it was determined that the same Honda was involved in both crashes. Neither accident in Evergreen Park resulted in injuries.
When Chicago police finished their own crash report, Evergreen Park police arrested Gray, where she was subsequently charged.
