DUBLIN, CA — The Dublin Unified School District said it was not aware of any threats against local schools amid a nationwide social media trend that threatened violence at schools Friday.
Dublin Police Services will step up its presence at schools tomorrow, said spokesperson spokesperson Capt. Nate Schmidt.
The trend originated on video-sharing app TikTok, which is particularly popular among youth. An image containing an anonymous, vague threat of gun violence was widely circulated.
Various iterations of the post have apparently been shared and some officials say the post was intended as a way to skip school.

No Dublin students have been identified in any videos, Schmidt said.
