BEACHWOOD, OH — Beachwood City Council will soon have a vacancy. Mayor-elect Justin Berns will be sworn-in on Jan. 1, 2022. Once that process is complete, his seat on city council will be officially vacated. The city will have 45 days to fill Berns' seat. Anyone interested in replacing Berns will need to send a resume to the Clerk of Council at 25325 Fairmount Boulevard, Beachwood, by 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2022. Once the mailing deadline has passed, Beachwood City Council will review resumes and then schedule interviews with promising applicants. Berns' remaining term expires in December 2023, giving his potential replacement nearly two years to serve on city council. For more information on Beachwood City Council, visit the city's website.
