Press release from the Jefferson County Government: 12/15/2021 The Jefferson County Commission will presented its annual $18-million dollar allocation to local Boards of Education on Dec. 15, just outside of Commission meeting chambers. These are citizen tax dollars going back to the community to improve education. Funds will be disbursed as follows: Board of Education, City of Bessemer $ 619,126.65 Board of Education, City of Birmingham $ 3,991,775.44 Board of Education, City of Fairfield $ 294,157.06 Board of Education, City of Homewood $ 796,706.13 Board of Education, City of Hoover $ 1,910,108.29 Board of Education, City of Leeds $ 329,408.36 Board of Education, City of Midfield $ 194,308.75 Board of Education, City of Mountain Brook $ 838,975.09 Board of Education, City of Tarrant $ 226,942.80 Board of Education, City of Trussville $ 832,340.90 Board of Education, City of Vestavia Hills $ 1,346,135.49 Jefferson County Board of Education $ 6,620,015.04 $18,000,000.00 Representatives from school districts will be present and members of the Jefferson County legislative delegation will be on hand.
