I have a couple African Soft Furred Rats weaned and ready to go. If you are looking for pets - please do your research first. My ASF rats seem to be outside the norm but they still are not as domesticated as a typical mouse or rat. Mine have never chewed out of there cage and I have never been bitten - even by moms with babies. However, they are a bit more jumpy then your average mouse or rat.
