performance art choir looking for artists who want to vocalize

Description
We are 5 or so people in the Koax Choir, looking for similar creative people who want to make a variety of vocal sounds. Generally there will be no electronic processing, unless specified, but we will make a wide array of whispers, grumbles, whistles, words/sentences, shouts, moans, bird calls, sounds from science fiction novels, sounds from a Duchamp sculpture, maybe actual singing. Many of these sounds can be made by anyone who has been speaking any language for any amount of time. We're not looking for musicians or musical ability, although we can definitely use any creative input from any background and any experience level. But I am advertising this on the Artist forum, not the Musician forum. We will rehearse to evolve the group's sound. Being quiet, unless specified, would be the worst thing to do. Being too loud would be the next worst thing. Most of these pieces are text scores, reading standard musical notation is not needed, but if you can, we can use that. We are looking to eventually rehearse and record safely in each other's company, but we are starting the search now. We had one in person rehearsal in 2019 right before the lockdowns started and we did one project recording each of ourselves in our homes and then mixing together. These two sessions yielded two pieces that appeared on French compilations: Neanderthal Music — imagine sitting around fire 60,000 years ago after eating something weird, appears on comp: https://camembertelectrique.bandcamp.com/track/the-first-campfire-song “Duchamp's “The Bride Stripped Bare By Her Bachelors, Even”” — text score of descriptions of objects in the painting/sculpture, appears on comp: https://camembertelectrique.bandcamp.com/track/the-bride-stripped-bare-by-her-bachelors-even-or-the-large-glass Listen to our two compilation pieces. It's meant to be Serious (but Fun), but maybe it's a bit silly. There's nothing wrong with that, but we are not trying to be weird or silly. When we all agree it is safe enough to start meeting in person, in my Central Austin living room, or elsewhere, then we will. We welcome people from diverse backgrounds, we need your unique talents! Email me with any questions. -Josh Ronsen Koax Choir, etc. http://ronsen.org
