POSITION SUMMARY: Person to perform custodial and janitorial tasks, meeting and event set-up and take-down (moving furniture, preparing/providing beverage service, cleaning up after events, etc.), audio/visual equipment operation. Must be able to work weekend and evening/nighttime shifts, as well as regular Monday through Friday daytime shifts. This is a union position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Janitorial and custodial tasks, including dishwashing (with and without commercial dishwasher), cleaning restrooms, and the like. * Set-up/take-down rooms for school classrooms, meetings and events, which involves a considerable amount of furniture moving, and often includes preparing/providing beverage service to meeting participants (coffee, tea, ice water, juice, soft drinks) * Operate audio and visual equipment * Monitor security flow, keep facilities secure. * Manage the above multiple demands, all of which may be encountered during a single shift. * Other related duties as assigned BASIC REQUIREMENTS: * Excellent "customer service" skills, positive attitude. Clean and neat appearance. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds * Ability to speak, write and understand the English language. * Strong work ethic and proven dependability. * Exercises good judgment in work and conduct. * Must successfully pass criminal background check. PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: * Custodial/janitorial experience * Experience with audio and visual equipment
