West Virginia Association of Museums 2022 Annual Conference - Point Pleasant, WV - April 7 - 9, 2022 The theme of WVAM’s 2022 conference is “Building Bridges: Facilitating Conversations in our Communities.” Those who attend the conference will learn how institutional reflection and open dialogue can create better engagement with diverse audiences and demonstrate a commitment to the communities they serve. The conference will provide resources and tools for fostering environments in which more community members see themselves represented in museum collections and exhibits and feel comfortable interacting with a museum’s content and its interpretive framework. As a post COVID-19 world becomes more of a reality, it is important to ensure that visitors feel welcome at our institutions more than ever before. The West Virginia Association of Museums was founded in 1990.   The mission of the organization has been to serve, educate, advocate for, and enhance communications within the museum community.  WVAM carries out this mission by listening to its members and serving their interests and by keeping the members abreast of current standards and activities on a national scale.
