We are thrilled to welcome Eva Chen and illustrator Sophie Diao for an in-person event to celebrate the publication of I AM GOLDEN! I AM GOLDEN is a joyful and lyrical picture book, and a manifesto of self-love for Chinese American children. Eva Chen and Sophie Diao, the author and illustrator, grew up as first-generation Chinese Americans with a scarcity of books that reflected their stories. Here they've collaborated on a moving ode to the immigrant experience, which also includes special author's and illustrator's notes, family photos, and a list of resources for Asian American advocacy. Eva Chen is the Head of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram, where she uses her platform of 1.8 million followers to share peeks into her life as a mother of three, and to shed light on ways to aid the AAPI community. Sophie is the illustrator of many picture books, including I Am Golden and Sarah and the Big Wave, and is the talent behind many a Google Doodle. Masks will be required at all times. To allow for social distancing, 50 tickets are available for the in-store discussion between Eva and Sophie. An additional 50 tickets allow entry into the post-event booksigning.
