What can we say about our girl, Riley? She has been an easy dog to have at the shelter. She's usually quiet and patiently waits for her turn to go outside and for her food. She walks pretty well on a leash. She's a gentle girl who enjoys attention and affection. Her fur is a stunning mixture of colors that shines in the sunlight. She's learning to sit for treats and has figured out toys are awesome! When she first arrived, she showed no interest in toys no matter what we offered. But soon we offered a pink squeaky toy much like all the other toys we'd offered and she squeaked the toy for almost an hour. We assume she just needed a little time to feel more comfortable.
For more information on our adoptions or to see Riley's webpage, visit http://www.PawsOfHertfordCounty.org. Our process: If you are interested in Riley or any of our adorable adoptables, please fill out an adoption application here: https://www.pawsofhertfordcounty.org/forms/. An adoption counselor will be in contact with you following the submission of your application. If approved, they will arrange a meet and greet at one of our monthly trips to Chesapeake or at our shelter. Visits to the shelter are by appointment only, as we are a volunteer-run rescue organization.
All PAWS dogs are spayed/neutered, and current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm. All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.
