Description

A yoga workshop for all the bigger bodied, larger, fat, thick thighed, curvy, and big boned humans out there who want to love yoga. Yoga spaces can feel unwelcoming for bigger bodied yoga practitioners, but in this workshop, you'll feel right at home. Andrea is a fat 200hr RYT who hated yoga until she found a welcoming space for larger bodied folx and she can't wait to bring that same sense of community and validation to others. She believes that yoga is for everyBODY. In this workshop we'll talk about why certain yoga poses can be more challenging depending on each individual's unique body and we'll learn about different variations and how to use yoga props. Do you have specific questions about certain poses or transitions? Don't be afraid to speak up and share your experience. We will have plenty of time to work on specific poses and do a lot of Q and A. This workshop is for beginners or seasoned yogis! Everyone's welcome. Bring water and wear something comfy that you can move in. If you have a yoga mat, bring it! If not, we have some for you and plenty of blocks, blankets, straps, and bolsters will be provided. Courageous Yoga is located at 1280 Sherman St. Denver, CO suite 214. You can find the entrance to the building behind the patio of City O City. Open the door and find a large staircase to the second floor. You will find Courageous upstairs and all the way down the hallway, the last door on the left. Courageous Yoga is a practice space and community led by Queer and Indigenous folks who are advised by BIPOC folks. We are committed to embodying the teachings of yoga and learning from Indigenous healing practices because we believe that our liberation is intertwined, and that listening to marginalized voices is vital in this work.
