Learn how to properly select, source and prune deciduous fruit trees that are incorporated in your landscape design. This event will be in person at the Lafayette Veterans Hall. Tickets must be purchased on Eventbrite, no sales at the Lafayette Veterans Hall. We will be following all COVID protocols so masks and proof of vaccination are required. Weather permitting we will have this event outside, or inside with doors open, so dress warmly. There will be no video recording of this event since it is in person. This event is open to all so please invite your clients, friends and colleagues . Phil has also graciously offered to bring a few trees to raffle off. Phil Pursel is the territory manager for Northern California at Dave Wilson Nursery. Phil has been in the nursery industry for 45 years, the last 12 years with Dave Wilson Nursery.  He has worked in all facets of the nursery industry.  As a teenager Phil started as a carryout during high school and eventually became a California Certified Nurseryman before the age of 20.  After college, Phil worked in the hard goods sector of the nursery industry before finally settling in as a salesman for a Southern California wholesale nursery for 20 years.  Phil and his wife spend a lot of time in Lake Tahoe just hanging out with their two German Shorthaired Pointers. Phil will be discussing backyard orchard culture, proper pruning techniques for deciduous fruit trees, deciduous fruit tree care and the importance a landscape designer plays in variety selection and where to find the right variety for a specific climate. CEU's 1.5 APLD Bay Area District offers scholarships for those who may otherwise not be able to attend our events.
