Former Broadcast Journalist of 20 years – Motivational Speaker – Creator/Host of the internet talk show Community Link AZ and Owner of DIVA STRONG MEDIA consulting. Life took a drastic unexpected turn on November 21, 2018, when Danielle was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, and never smoked a day in her life. The cancer spread to her lower spine, pelvis and the top of her right shoulder. At the time of diagnosis, she was only 94 pounds. Facing the harsh reality that her broadcast journalism career was over, she focused on healing and was determined to get through stage four lung cancer as a non-smoker journey with a positive attitude and outlook. She told the doctor that she was going to “kill my cancer with kindness”. She’s been through it all with biopsy of her lungs, surgery on her lower spine, numerous scans, continuous blood work, two rounds of intense radiation for over thirty days, chemotherapy for nearly 2 years and a port put in her chest to receive medication to save the veins in her arms. Her cancer journey is still ongoing and throughout it all used the hashtag #divastrong on all my social media post. Sharing her lung cancer journey started a conversation which gave her local and national exposure to continue to help other non-smokers who get lung cancer. Danielle is a board member with the American Lung Association and was invited to be Arizona’s Lung Force Hero with an invite to share her story on Capitol Hill to help create change in congress for lung cancer individuals going forward.
