Live Nativity, a 16th- Century Las Posadas Procession, Eucharistic Adoration, Hot Cocoa & Cookies. Open to the Public; Admission is FREE!
Our Lady of La Leche invites you to experience the joy of Christmas. Bring your family and friends for a true silent night on the Sacred Acre, complete with a Live Nativity, Eucharistic Adoration, Cookies & Hot Cocoa and a16th Century Spanish procession of “Las Posadas” (the Inns), presented by Historic Florida Militia.
“Las Posadas” commemorates St. Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bethlehem looking for safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus. The group making this procession, representing the Holy Family, stands outside a series of houses, singing songs, asking for lodging. They are refused time and again until the group reaches the designated house. Finally, the travelers are permitted to enter. Prayer and song continue in the home, and festive foods are shared.
"Las Posadas" isn’t about being somber and still during Christmas: It’s about pilgrims and a pilgrimage, rousing song, prayer and deep faith—all of it in motion. This is a great opportunity for families to come together amidst the hustle and bustle of the holidays, to remember the true reason for the season!
**Reservation is required ONLY for the “Las Posadas” Procession. All guests may participate with the Live Nativity, Cookies & Hot Cocoa and Eucharistic Adoration without a reservation. Admission is FREE!**
Tickets will be available beginning Friday, Nov. 5. to make your “Las Posadas” Reservation!
The Live Nativity will have a special presentation at 6:30pm (Saturday and Sunday) & 7:30pm (Saturday only).
