FREE EVENT - When exploring nature don't forget the little guys! Join biologist as we take a closer look at insects. FREE EVENT - REGISTRATION OPENS 12/15Come out and connect with the often over looked insects of Lantana Scrub Natural Area in this outdoor classroom! Join us as we learn the FUN-damentals of species identification. We will learn how to identify some of the insects here at Lantana Scrub by learning how to spot their unique characteristics. Guidebooks with pictures will be provided to help us learn species names. Soon we’ll all be thinking just like biologists! This site is not yet open to the public. We will meet on the NE corner of Southwinds Drive and Andrew Redding Road. There is space to park along the fence line. Sign Language Interpreters will be provided. Please bring your water, appropriate clothing (hat, hiking shoes/boots, long-sleeved shirts and pants for bugs) and bug spray. This site does NOT have restroom facilities. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Masks are required for all participants (regardless of vaccination status) that are not able to maintain social distancing.
