Apisgardens has two apprenticeship openings for general life skills. Applicants must submit a completed “Apprentice Application Form” along with a “Waiver and Release of Liability Form” signed by the applicants parent or legal guardian. Before and applicant is accepted; an in-person (parental / legal guardian) interview is required. Apprentice applicants must have transportation to and from Apis Gardens which is located in Turney Texas just south ease of Jacksonville TX. The applicant must be a high school student. This program offers a safe educational place for a student to learn life skills. Smoking and alcohol are not allowed. Cell phone are for emergency use only. The following is a list of some but not all topics that may be covered during their apprenticeship: Boating Operations & Water Safety Use and safe operation of shop tools Welding Carpentry Masonry Electrical wiring Plumbing Auto Mechanics (such as how to change a tire and regular maintenance) Horticulture / Gardening Beekeeping Plant propagation Canning Cooking Computer graphic / slide show presentations These opening are best suited for high school students.
