Morning, neighbors! It's me again, Danielle Fallon, your host of the Burlington Daily. First, today's weather: A.M. showers; cloudy, breezy. High: 55 Low: 43. Here are the top 3 stories today in Burlington: The city of Burlington will resume the towing and impoundment of cars owned by people with overdue parking fees starting on Feb. 1, after a period in which car towing was temporarily suspended in response to COVID-19. Anybody who owes the city $275 or more in overdue parking fees will be eligible to be towed; this threshold was recently raised from the previous cutoff of $75. If a car is towed, the city can hold the car in impoundment until all fees are fully paid. (Burlington Free Press)Young adults with no place else to go can come to the Spectrum Youth & Family Services Drop-In Center at 177 Pearl Street in Burlington. The Drop-In Center serves youth ages 14 to 24 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Visitors can take a shower, do laundry, charge their phones, or just hang out with staff members and other youths. (Seven Days)In an effort to bring in more officers, the Burlington Police Department is offering a $15,000 sign-on bonus. The bonus was put in place with support from the Burlington City Council, who set aside ARPA money to fund it.
