Long Valley Doctor Remembered With First Aid Squad's CPR Devices

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The legacy of a beloved doctor will continue in the community where he served for over three decades, thanks to donations made in his memory. Dr. Christopher Muenzen died tragically and unexpectedly in Helena, Montana in a pedestrian accident on Sept. 21 at age 66, where he served at the Fort Harrison VA Medical Center, leaving behind loved ones including his wife Diane, their four children, his grandson and extended family. RELATED: Services Set For Long Valley Doctor Killed In Pedestrian Accident They held a celebration of life and funeral mass for Muenzen at Long Valley's St. Luke Parish. He worked closely with the Long Valley First Aid Squad during his years in practice at his Hunterdon Health Care on 59 East Mill Road, his obituary requesting donations be made to the squad after his passing, instead of flowers. "Generous donations poured in from patients, family and friends as well as a sizable supporting donation from the Long Valley First Aid Squad Auxiliary," the First Aid Squad reported. "Long Valley First Aid Squad wanted to ensure that Dr. Muenzen's legacy would live on in a way that would serve the community and save lives," they said. A dedication event and demonstration of the Lucas machine was held on Monday with members of the First Aid Squad and Muenzen's family and friends, after the squad purchased Lucas CPR machines for each of the ambulances, according to the First Aid Squad.
