Press release from City of Fort Worth: December 15, 2021 The City Council on Tuesday evening approved the appointments of Laetitia Coleman Brown as interim city attorney and John Riggs as interim city auditor. Sarah J. Fullenwider will retire as city attorney, and Patrice Randle will retire as city auditor, both at the end of this year. Brown was born and raised in Fort Worth, where she graduated from O.D. Wyatt High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University and a law degree from Baylor Law School. Brown joined the City Attorney's Office in 1997. She worked as a prosecutor, legal adviser to the Code Compliance Department and the Police Department, as well as a litigator representing the city in civil rights litigation before promoting to section chief over the City Attorney's Office's Public Safety Section. She was named deputy city attorney over the Litigation Section in 2021. Brown has been married to her husband for 23 years. They are the proud parents of three sons and recently became first-time grandparents. Riggs was assistant city auditor in Fort Worth from January 2019 to December 2020, when he retired. Previously, he was audit manager from July 2014 to December 2018. He also worked in the city's Water Department. Riggs holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master of science degree in information systems from UTA.
