Here are the top 5 stories in Austin today: As part of CVS Health's commitment to address racial inequity and social determinants of health in underserved communities, the company is investing $11.6 million with Boston Financial Investment Management to provide 171 units of much-needed permanent supportive housing in Austin. (Drug Store News) Austin plans to extend its COVID-19 restrictions that mandate masking in public schools and will impose penalties for violating the public order. The announcement comes a day after reports of the omicron variant was likely detected in Austin-Travis County.
