Kevin Donald McFetridge Jr., 21, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 6:43 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2021, on a burglary charge. Police were sent to the New Hampshire Republican State Committee Office on Water Street for a possible burglary around 5:15 p.m. The complainant told police they saw someone "duck under" the committee's Ring camera remotely. They gave a description of the person and officers began to search the area. While at CVS on Hall Street, not far from NH GOP HQ, an officer saw McFetridge, who they knew "from prior contacts," and accused him of "clutching" a laptop. His backpack, the affidavit noted, appeared to be "full of various items" including the top of what looked like a Jameson whiskey bottle. "I asked Kevin where he was coming from," the officer wrote. "Kevin said he came from McDonald's, where he said he was using the laptop, which Kevin claimed was his." Dispatch received further information from the caller and the officer accused McFetridge of being the person in the Ring video, based on the descriptors. A sergeant at the building also discovered forced entry. The officer looked at the laptop, saw an "RNC Property" sticker on it. The officer believed RNC stood for "Republican National Committee," the report said. McFetridge was asked again about the laptop, claimed it was his, but later, hung his head and said he would "come clean" about it but only to a specific officer, the affidavit said. Later, the officer wrote, McFetridge admitted to stealing the whiskey from the second floor of the building after looking into the building to see if there were things he could steal to sell. A second person confirmed later the laptop belonged to the NH GOP and McFetridge was arrested. Inside the backpack, police accused McFetridge of being in possession of two video cameras, two tablets, cashed checks, as well as other items. McFetridge was arraigned on Dec. 9. He has other active cases in superior court. Editor's note: This post was derived from information supplied by the Concord Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.
