Press release from the City of Joliet: 12/14/2021 12:23 PM Don't miss your chance to see Santa as he rides through Joliet on Saturday, December 18 for the City of Joliet's 2021 Santa Send-Off. Find a cozy spot along his route and help us send him back to the North Pole to prepare for his journey on Christmas Eve! A map of the route, as well as turn-by-turn directions are available at www.joliet.gov/santa. The fun will begin promptly at 10 a.m. from the intersection of Woodruff & Draper Avenue headed west. The City anticipates the route to take approximately one hour and twenty minutes to complete and will end at the intersection of Ridge and Caton Farm. Those who plan to come out should follow @TheCityofJoliet on Facebook and Twitter for live location updates. Candy will not be distributed at any point. *NEW* this year, while you wait to see Santa, be sure to tune into our friends at 88.7 WCSF-The Spirit of Christmas for a special Santa Send-Off themed program from 10-11:30 a.m. One of the area's finest holiday traditions, the Spirit of Christmas offers commercial-free holiday music and is broadcast 24 hours a day from Thanksgiving through January 2. This festive programming is presented annually by WCSF 88.7 FM, the student-run radio station at the University of St. Francis. This is the 29th year that USF has offered the Spirit of Christmas for the community. The start of the parade will be available live on JCTV Channel 6 and the City's Facebook page.
