BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A Buffalo Grove woman is accused of attacking a male family member and hitting him in the head with a hatchet, or small axe, on Thanksgiving. Eleonora Prilutsky, 52, of Buffalo Grove, has been charged with attempted homicide with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and aggravated domestic battery, in connection with the attack on Nov. 25, according to arrest records obtained by Patch through a public information request.
Prilutsky was arrested in the 600 block of Harris Road after police responded to a 911 call from another family member at around 4:26 p.m., when the incident occurred.
Police found a man on his back on the floor in the den when they arrived, according to the arrest record. There was blood spattered around him and lacerations to both of his wrists. He also had a laceration in the back of his head, the report said. The man was taken to an area hospital for observation.
Prilutsky is being held on a $500,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 22 for a preliminary hearing. She is currently incarcerated at the Lake County Jail.
