Position Summary: P&E Distributors is looking for a reliable Full-Time Delivery Driver who will Report to the Operations Manager and work with the Dispatcher to ensure the smooth, timely and correct delivery of completed orders to our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. You must be motivated and help the teams to ensure targets are achieved and customers’ expectations are met to the highest of standards. You will always be expected to ensure that high quality standards set out are adhered to. The dependability of the driver is crucial to our business and must maintain the highest level of reliability and integrity. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Safely operate a heavy vehicle • Safely load and unload cargo • Properly track and document merchandise documents including payments • Report any issues or incidents to Operations Manager • Inspect delivery vehicle before and after every trip • Inspect vehicle tires, fluids and other safety features regularly • Maintain vehicle service log • Keeping vehicle interior clean • Collect payments and issue receipts • Responsible for all merchandise in their care as well as all monies, checks, and returned merchandise • Coordinate paperwork for the truck manifest on each trip using the company’s software system before leaving the facility. • Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety instructions for that equipment. • Relay customer feedback, including concerns, complaints, damaged deliveries, returns, and competitive knowledge whenever it is presented. • Use route navigation apps and knowledge of area to deliver packages to customers on time • Interact with customers in a professional manner QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • High School Diploma or GED required • Valid Driver’s License • Clean driving record • 5 years previous driving experience • Previous experience in delivery or other related fields • Must be able to operate a tablet for logging in and out and for GPS • Warehouse Experience is a plus PREFERRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES • Familiarity with GPS devices • Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience • Work well independently • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Office) • Ability to sit for long periods of time, stand on your feet, bend, stoop, climb stairs • Able to lift up-to 70lbs multiple times throughout the shift • Work as a team with co-workers to ensure consistency and improve operations • Well organized with good time management skills • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and deal with frequent interruptions • Willingness to accept change and ability to manage change • Fork truck certification or ability to be trained BENEFITS OVERVIEW • Vacation • Health insurance • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Employee discounts • Referral program
