Position Summary: P&E Distributors is looking for Full and Part Time Warehouse Picker/Pullers who will Report to the Shipping Supervisor and work with the Shipping Clerks to ensure the smooth, timely and correct delivery of completed orders to our customers. You must be motivated and help the teams to ensure targets are achieved and customers’ expectations are met to the highest of standards. Candidate must be a detail-oriented order selector; to be responsible for managing and filling incoming customer orders and ensuring they are correct. Order Selectors must be able to operate warehouse equipment and machinery and have the ability to maintain an awareness of surroundings when transporting items in a busy warehouse. You will always be expected to ensure that high quality standards set out are adhered to. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, as well as an office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. Should not have any lifting restrictions and must not be afraid of heights. Should be able to tolerate high and low temperature levels and occasional inclement driving conditions. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Fill and complete customer orders in containers and shipping boxes • Ensure the correct Order Numbers are picked to offer full traceability • Perform quality checks to identify and replace damaged materials • Operate RDF scanners and equipment to accurately fill orders and effectively manage inventory • Ensure that the inventory picking equipment is in good operative order and identify any defects to your direct report • Monitor inventory levels to determine need for stock replacement • Fill customer order according to size, color, quantity, and quality specifications • Carry out loading and unloading of material orders and shipment • Understand and ensure warehouse accuracy by having merchandise in proper location • Scan areas and zones to locate items for selecting. • Pull inventory from racks either manually or using automated equipment and hand-held devices • Complete orders and place in the billing/shipping department • Maintain a holistic view of the business and understand how your team’s actions and performance integrates and depends on others • Ensure each order is not damaged before shipping • Schedule work to be completed within set timeframes • Operating handling equipment according to industrial safety regulations • Follow all Safety, Sanitation, & Security policies & procedures, as required. • Ensure good housekeeping by implementing, promoting, and sustaining a safe, organized, and productive 5S working environment • Performs other duties as assigned. • QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: • High School Diploma or GED required • Valid Driver’s License • 2-3 years previous work experience preferred • Warehouse Experience is a plus • PREFERRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES: • Experience with Logistics software UPS World Ship, Fed Ex and other 3rd party logistics software • Experience with DOS type and Microsoft (Word, Excel, and Office) applications • Experience with zone pick and put away • Experience with UPC codes, numeric and alpha numeric part numbering systems • Experience/an understanding of working in a lean, 5S environment. • Experience of working in a fast moving/Logistics environment. • Fork truck certified or ability to be trained • Enthusiastic and flexible, with a can-do attitude and ability to work under pressure. • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time, bend, stoop, climb stairs • Able to lift up-to 70lbs multiple times throughout the shift • Able to remove and put away merchandise for up to 20 feet • Work as a team with co-workers to ensure consistency and improve operations • Well organized with good time management skills and attention to detail • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and deal with frequent interruptions • Willingness to accept change and to improve • Must have good communication skills • Ability to stand for long periods of time • BENEFITS OVERVIEW: • Vacation • Health insurance • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Employee discounts • Referral program
