Heart-Warming Christmas Themed Hockey Story Book Features a Character with Cancer and Has Been Making A Difference Since it Debuted at #1 in December 2016 By Wayne R. Stevenson Illinois Authors K.P. Lynne and R.J. Modell have garnered fans around the world with their books, earning them international best-selling author status. The writing team's most popular books hail from their #1 best-selling series, “Hock E. Puck Meets Hock E. Stick”. In 2016 and 2017, one of the books in the series, “All I Want For Christmas Is A Cure For Cancer” debuted at #1 and remained the #1 New Release in Children’s Hockey Books for almost twelve weeks beginning in December 2016 and staying there until February 2017. Upon its initial release, the book ranked #1 Children’s Hockey Print Book, #1 Children’s Hockey eBook, #1 Winter Sports - Ice Hockey, #1 Hot New Release and #1 Gift Book. In addition, it has topped the chart in its category, over two dozen times, as both a paid title and as a promotional give-a-way and has been sold at Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million, in addition to local mom and pop book shops. In the story, one of the beloved characters "Hock E. Stick" is diagnosed with Cancer and worries about never seeing another Christmas. Thankfully, Hock E. Stick survives Cancer, but sadly that is not the case for every cancer patient, and the authors have used the book as a fund-raising tool ever since. In fact, K.P. Lynne and R.J. Modell donated a case of autographed books to the Three Strohm Sisters Law Enforcement Partnership, to benefit pediatric cancer research for the CHEO Foundation at the Children's Hospital of East Ontario in Canada and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital in Long Island, New York. Research results are shared the world over - so this is a win-win situation for all children affected by cancer! The authors received formal Proclamations on behalf of the police departments in Canada and the USA who were involved with the joint fundraising efforts of the Three Strohm Sisters Law Enforcement Partnership for Pediatric Cancer Research. Since 2016, the authors have donated countless books to kids with cancer and have provided donations of the books for fundraising partnerships when requested by not-for-profits. K.P. Lynne and R.J. Modell are Chicago Writers Association members and Illinois Reads Ambassadors.
