Job Summary Supports designated equipment and applications utilized by and/or provided for use by the Department of Public Safety and University Police. Responsibilities 1. Provides technical and support services to public safety systems and system components 2. Works with the University Information Technology Services (UITS) concerning inventory, assignment and use of UITS-provided hardware, software and services 3. Coordinates with facilities department to review installation requests for the installation of duress alarms switches (panic alarms) tied into the existing building alarm panels, and assists in coordinating installation with vendor(s) and other University personnel 4. Utilizes the concept of crime prevention though environmental design (CPTED) principles to conduct surveys 5. Utilizes survey results to make recommendations regarding general crime prevention and the utilization of technical services related to potential crime prevention measures 6. Serves as a Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) Required Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One (1) year related work experience MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW OR INSTITUTION: Current, valid, and unrestricted Georgia driver’s license CPR, AED, basic first aid procedures, NIMS and ICS Preferred Qualifications Technical diploma, or Associate's degree from an accredited institutionPrevious experience with installation, repair, maintenance of security cameras, as well as operations of video management systems and servers preferredGenetec Security Center Omnicast Technical Certification preferredPrior experience working with public safety systems in a college or university setting preferred Equal Employment Opportunity Kennesaw State University is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
