WE'RE HIRING A PRODUCTION PLANT MANAGER AT OUR PITTSBURGH AIRPORT LOCATION TYPE: Full Time | SHIFTS: Vary Apply at: OVERVIEW: The Site Operations Manager is responsible and accountable for the overall site safety and performance including the cost-effective use of facilities, equipment, labor and assets assigned to the site. The Manager is responsible for the health, safety and productivity of employees. The Operations Manager is further responsible for supporting the company goals and objectives and promoting the business interests of the company by conducting him or herself in a professional manner while maintaining excellent customer service and good public relations. We deliver services at small and large airports across North America and internationally using a range of technologies and customized equipment systems that are purpose-built to meet our clients' needs. Inland Technologies is a member of the Inland Group of Companies, consisting of: • Inland Technologies, specializing in airport environmental services, • IDS, delivering aircraft de-icing services, & • Quantem Aviation Services, specializing in airport ground and cargo handling. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage all aspects of spent Aircraft De-icing Fluid (ADF) collection, storage, processing and distribution of ADF to airlines; • Compliance with all environmental laws and permits; • Responsible for effectively communicating company policy, goals, standards and objectives to all station employees; • Monitor all processing systems and performance. Delegate, realign and cross train staff to improve productivity when required; • Ensure that established production standards (target rates) for all processing systems are met or exceeded; • Ensure that Inland Group is in compliance with all government labor, health and safety laws, regulations and policies at all times. Ensure compliance with all company policies at all times; • Responsible for the overall health, safety and security of employees and company assets, and to provide support, guidance, leadership and assistance to employees to improve safety awareness and enhance production; • Assist Inland Group sales personnel in promoting company products and services with potential customers; • Ensure spare repair replacement parts and supplies are kept on hand at all times, as well as to regularly inspect, test and calibrate equipment and chemicals for proper functioning, while monitoring staff testing and recording practices for accuracy and adherence to all SOP's, take corrective action when necessary; • Develop, implement and provide Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for employee continuous training, recurrent training, cross training on all systems, Health & Safety training, and O&M manuals for all equipment; • Assist in the development of an annual budget for the station and complete semi-annual site inventories, while managing and controlling site expenditures within agreed budgets. • Develop and implement a Quality Control and Assurance program; • Responsible for recruiting, new hiring and employee training and development, perform regular employee evaluations and assessments, and to develop, implement and update a site manpower plan that maintains adequate coverage for safe and effective operation, and meets all requirements of the contract; • Monitor, track and manage payroll and labor budget; • Develop emergency plans and training requirements to handle evacuations, first response procedures and potential environmentally hazardous situations; • Advance suggestions and communications with other recycling operations, engineering, technical support staff and management that promote improvement and advances in efficiencies of equipment; • Implement and manage a regular program of maintenance for all recycling equipment, as well as developing, and updating all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) required to complete daily tasks and operate equipment safely and efficiently; • Ensure a safe, clean and hazard free work environment in compliance with Inland and Government regulations; • Set up parts supply relationships and accounts with equipment manufacturers. • Oversee plant and ADF System modifications; • Work cooperatively and manage sub-contractors’ duties; • Work cooperatively with the ADF suppliers and the airline representatives to ensure adequate supply of ADF and accurate record keeping/accounting; • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with PIT staff and Inland Group customers; • Ensure record keeping and all required reports are clear, concise and completed on time; • Represent Inland Group in a courteous and professional manner at all times; • Participate in airport joint operational committee meetings and working groups in order to provide input into the development of local Glycol Management Plans, local fluid management procedures and solutions to ongoing operational issues; • Accomplish any other task that may, from time to time, be assigned by management. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • College degree directly related to the position; • Valid US Driver’s License. • Strong computer skills • Strong leader and management qualities; • Cost control, budgeting and timely project delivery • Must be flexible and able to multi-task; • Must have previous experience with developing and managing budgets, creating spreadsheets and writing concise and accurate reports; • Must be able to pass International Airport security screening and finger printing process to acquire a security badge prior to employment offer; • Previous distillation, chemical processing and/or airport experience considered an asset. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Overall responsibility of the site and staff. • The Operations Supervisor reports directly to the Operations manager. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Mostly office work. • Exposure to prevalent weather conditions while working outdoors. • During certain weather events, the Operations Manager will be required to have a presence in the field to ensure operations is running at its fullest capacity. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • The position involves sitting and standing for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, reaching with hands and arms. • May be necessary to work at heights up to 40 feet. • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: • Full-time position with an average of 40 hours per week. • Due to the nature of our business it is a requirement for the Operations Manager to be on site during certain weather events to ensure operations is running at full capacity. TRAVEL: Minimal travel is required for this position (attend occasional annual managers meeting at Inland sites throughout North America).
