Description
Make a difference in the life of a young person and volunteer to mentor a youth in Gresham/East County.
Family of Friends Mentoring matches volunteers with low-income youth in a community based mentoring program. Volunteers at match with an elementary school aged you between the ages of 6-12. Matches meet once outside of school for one year. Mentors can be individuals, couples, or families.
With the support of a mentor, youth build their confidence, develop positive self-identity and learn leadership skills.
We welcome, value and volunteers of all backgrounds. Our program practices three core values to help our youth succeed: 1) Healthy relationships 2) Youth power and choice and 3) Racial equity (practicing anti-racism). We ask that our volunteers commit to practicing and learning about these values while participating in our program.
