Position Title: Maintenance Technician, Lead Department: Finance and Operations Reports to: Facilities Manager FLSA Classification: Full time, hourly, non-exempt Salary: $23.00- $24.00 per hour Job Summary: Are you an experienced commercial maintenance technician? You can be part of the team leading Sacramento’s exciting new attraction – the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC). We are seeking a Maintenance Technician who will perform maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities at a new state-of-the-art, LEED-certified museum building in Sacramento. This work will include plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, repairs, and troubleshooting. The individual will be responsible for learning the facility’s BAS (Building Automation Systems) to include utilizing our HVAC scheduling and maintenance software, programming and adjusting the Greenmax lighting controller, and understanding the functions of the buildings fire alarm and security surveillance systems. Duties/Responsibilities: • Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair. • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs. • Use work order tickets system to plan and prioritize jobs. • Plan repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manuals as needed. • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing door hardware, and door closers. • Repair locking systems on doors, file cabinets, lockers etc. • Provide roof maintenance and inspection of TPO roofing, clean and clear roof drains. • Perform routine maintenance on building systems. • Troubleshoot HVAC maintenance issues, replaces air filters in air handlers. • Assist with upkeep and cleaning of the building and grounds. • Uses aerial lift to perform overhead maintenance as needed. • Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. • Use company vehicles for purchases and passenger transportation. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Requirements: • Ability to follow instructions. • Knowledge of and experience with general carpentry and repair. • Knowledge of and experience with general electrical repairs • Knowledge of and experience with general plumbing repairs • Ability to use hand tools and power tools. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Valid, unrestricted drivers license. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. College or trade school preferred • 3 years related commercial maintenance experience required. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods standing and walking. • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. • Must be fully-vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccination series approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the World Health Organization (WHO).
