Location: Eugene, OR General Description: In the absence of, or under the guidance of the Facilities Director, the Assistant Facilities Director oversees all facets of the Facilities Department which include but are not limited to: Assisting with all aspects of Facilities upkeep, maintenance, vehicle and machinery upkeep, innovations for advancement of internal processes, repair, renovations, construction, property leases, and security. This position oversees the Facilities Coordinator as well as the Building and Grounds Coordinator and works closely with other department heads to fulfill the mission of Mountain Rose Herbs. The pay for this position starts at $24.00/hr. DOE Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: • Efficiency, good organization skills. • Must effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with the Facilities Director as well as other Directors and staff/departments and have a professional demeanor. • The ability to follow instructions and work well with others in a team orientated environment. • Must have the ability to perform quick and accurate work with a strong attention to detail. • The Assistant Director should always be aware of, follow, and enforce rules laid out not only in the Employee Handbook but any/all applicable laws and guidelines for employee privacy, confidentiality, etc. • Position requires the ability to "shift gears" at a moment's notice with a professional demeanor. Essential Job Functions: 1. Dependability: is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback for improved performance. 2. Following MRH procedures and protocols 3. Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of multiple buildings/sites and address all needs of each facility to include: a. HVAC, General maintenance work, security systems, janitorial services, lawn care, vendor contracts, building permits, Elevator permits 4. Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of all company vehicles (to include forklifts) and machinery 5. Ensure that all facility equipment meet safety, health, GMP, etc. requirements and are in good working order 6. Ensure that facilities are of good operating condition and is reflective of our work environment, culture and values 7. Acting as a point person for other departments and be able to answer inquiries as well as keep necessary parties up to date with ongoing projects. 8. Communicating with the Facilities Director and the EVP clearly when any problems or issues arise that go beyond the scope of the Assistant Director to address as well as any corrections that have occurred. Passing details and information of importance on to the Director either verbally or in writing. 9. The Facilities Assistant Director should report directly to either the Facilities Director or the Executive Vice President in the event of employee misconduct. This would include any conduct that goes against the rules contained within the employee manual; insubordination, resistance to the set schedule, unwillingness to corporate with the instructions of the coordinator, absences, non-employee visitors, faulty equipment, interdepartmental conflict or any question or concern that goes beyond the aforementioned responsibilities. 10. The Facilities Assistant Director should always be aware, follow and enforce rules laid out not only in the Employee Handbook but any/all applicable laws and guidelines for employee privacy, confidentiality, etc. 11.
