REPOST-Lucy is still looking for her forever home. If you are interested, please reply with where you’re located, how often/long she would be left alone for, what your backyard is like, and a little bit about yourself. I am sure a lot of people say this, but I genuinely mean it when I say it breaks my heart to have to type this. I am searching for the perfect home for my 2 year old, boxer+husky mix, Lucy. I got her back in 2019 at 8 weeks old and she has been such a loyal and loving companion. Unfortunately, I have gotten to a point in my life where it is no longer fair for me to keep her. Selfishly, I don’t want to give her up; but in my heart I know it is miserable for her to be crated 8+ hours as I am no longer home most days. She is crate and potty trained, up to date on all her vaccinations, and spayed. She could benefit from further behavioral training, as she lost some of her manners when I stopped being available to correct her. A home with no children, or older children would be suitable. She has a tendency to jump when excited, which I’m sure could be easily corrected with a bit of training. She is highly food motivated and a very smart girl. She loves to love, humans most of all. She has never met a person she hasn’t liked. Lucy also gets along great with other dogs and has lived with a cat. Although, she doesn’t understand the difference between playing with a cat vs a dog, so it may not be suitable (my cat was just very tolerable of her). She also doesn’t bark, I have never heard her bark at a person, doorbell, or knock. The only time I’ve heard her talk is when she’s trying to get someone’s attention for play time. She knows basic commands like sit and lay down. She also knows to sit and wait for her release command “okay” before enjoying her breakfast and dinner. I would love for her to go to a home with someone who is available to give her the time, love, and exercise she deserves. She has such a gentle, happy, and loving soul-I am hopeful she will be able to live her best life with a family who loves her as deeply as I do. I would also like to note that although she has an adventurous heart, cars are NOT her friend. She becomes ill, so be prepared to do some cleaning if you want her traveling anywhere. Please be aware there is a rehoming fee to ensure she goes to a good home. I can provide you with her bowls, toys, and leash. As well as the rest of her food.
