Description

LOST A PET? FOUND A PET? Heartland Humane Shelter & Care is the housing facility for stray pets in Benton County. Law enforcement and members of the public can bring stray pets to Heartland free of charge. These services are available daily between 11 am and 4 pm and do not require an appointment. Calling ahead is always appreciated: . Please note: We do not accept strays from outside of Benton County. We cannot care for large livestock – our facility is equipped to house pets the size of a goat and smaller. If you find a stray pet, first check for signs of ownership. Consider: is this an outdoor cat or is it truly lost? Does this dog live nearby? Try knocking on doors. If you are unable to locate an owner, bring the animal to our shelter. If you are unable to approach and catch the stray animal, call law enforcement (non-emergency line) for assistance. Though we house stray pets, Heartland Humane is not animal control and cannot help capture at-large pets. If you lose a pet in Benton County, submit a lost pet report on our website: heartlandhumane.org/lost-and-found-pets/. Here you will find photos of stray animals in our care. Check the website each day. If you see your animal, call or send an email (adopt @ heartlandhumane.org); we will respond as soon as we are able. If your pet has been missing for more than a week, we also recommend checking the adoptable pets on our website.
