ASIST is the result of more than 25 years of research and development and is the most widely used suicide intervention program in the world. This is a two-day, 15 hour, interactive workshop. Learn how to recognize opportunities to help, assess risk of suicide, apply a suicide intervention model, and practice skills. For more information about ASIST, visit www.livingworks.net.  Trainers:    Amy Baker, LCSW; Christine Ewing MS, LMFT PPSC; Caroline Suiter, MPH  Where:         Rimrock Trails Treatment Services: 1333 NW 9th Street, Prineville, OR 97754  When:          Thurs – Friday, January 20th  and 21st, at 8:30am-4:30pm               **Please arrive 15 minutes early in order to park and sign-in** Registration Required: By 5pm on January 13th. No walk-ins will be accepted. Please note: ASIST may not be appropriate for everyone, as it could be a triggering environment. This training is an educational program and is not intended in any way to provide therapy to anyone who has experienced a recent loss or who is themselves at risk for suicide. Appropriateness of training attendance is at the discretion of the ASIST trainers. Cost: Typical cost is $150 per participant. However, this training is sponsored by Rimrock Trails and Deschutes County Health Services, so there is no cost at this time. Attendance: Complete attendance for the full  two days is required in order to be considered ASIST trained.  It is understood that outside commitments may require an attendee to leave a few minutes early.  This can be arranged with the trainer the day of the training.   However, if early departure of more than one hour is needed, attendees  should consider either readjusting their schedule for complete attendance or to take a future training.  Full two day attendees receive a certificate of attendance and therefore, the declaration of being ASIST Trained as well as Continuing Education Units (CEU's).      Food:  Due to COVID-19 precautions, no food will be provided. COVID-19 Precautions: We will be following the official local guidance from local public health authorities. Participants will be asked to wear a mask, social distance, and refrain from sharing supplies during the training. Guidelines will be communicated to participants prior to the event.
