Hike and work the trails in San Jose's iconic Alum Rock Park! NEW Requirements!Due to recent City requirements, volunteers are required to share their vaccination status to volunteer at City led volunteer events. On the day of the volunteer event please be ready to present to staff: Your vaccination card, picture of your vaccination card or your State of California QR code/digital card in-person AND government issued ID. **This requirement applies to volunteers who are currently eligible to obtain the COVID-19 vaccine.​​​​** If you prefer not to share your vaccination status, we encourage you to delay your participation in volunteer events and return when you are comfortable in providing the required information or until guidelines change. Thank you for your understanding. Helpful Information: If you lost your physical vaccine card, please go to the website below to access your vaccination record digitally. Want to learn more about trail and restoration work? Then come join us every second Saturday, for Alum Rock Trail Crew!Volunteers will meet in the Youth Science Institute parking lot, at the farthest end of the park. Follow the yellow "Volunteer Event" signs and register at the lime green volunteer truck and trailer. Trail crew starts PROMPTLY at 9:00 AM. Give yourself sufficient time to reach the destination. It is a winding 2 mile road from the main gate to the end of the park. COVID-19 symptom checks and protocols will be in place. Wear a face covering, maintain social distancing and PLEASE, stay home if you are sick. All tools are provided! Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants, sturdy closed toe shoes and to bring water and snacks. Volunteer Service Agreement forms must be filled out and are available at the link below.
