Piano Lessons is a feature-length documentary which explores the relationship between artist and mentor, and the value that this relationship has in artistic and personal development. The man and artist at the center of this story is Cuban pianist German Diez Nieto, a long-time student of the great Chilean pianist Claudio Arrau and a devoted teacher who nurtured generations of accomplished classical musicians, now active in the American and international music scene. In telling German’s untold and compelling story, Piano Lessons will unveil the roots of his legacy, a tradition of music making passing down directly from the great composer, conductor, and teacher Franz Liszt. *As per NYC regulations, all attendees to the screening must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry with a government-issued ID.
